I had the opportunity to snag an e-ARC from the lovely Tara West (I loved her Something More series) for her new book releasing Monday, July 7th, 2014 DIVINE AND DATELESS.

The teasers had been driving me mad with hints of hilarity and sexiness. And I am happy to assure you that those teasers were completely lived up to. DIVINE AND DATELESS, the first book in the new Eternally Yours series, was funny, poignant, sexy, sweet, and will give you a new look at the afterlife. Where do you think you measure up? Level 2? Level 10? Uh, above or below? ;)

Ash was getting ready for her blind date when she had a little mishap. Twenty nine, unmarried, no children, and suddenly dead with the worst bad hair day a girl could imagine, Ash is none-too-pleased to discover that the hunkity-hunk is a Grim Reaper and there to escort her to the afterlife.

Ash's inner monologue will crack you up. As will her reactions to a clerical accounting error that land her in an awful job in the afterlife. The upshot? She has a smoking hot neighbor, Mr Grim himself.

I found her hilarious. Her Darwin-Award style death made me chuckle, her thought processes, smart mouth, and self-deprecation were lighthearted and funny, and her chemistry with Aedan nearly short-circuited my Kindle. Looking forward to the rest of this series and see how she works out in her new job and if she'll find a HEA with Aedan. I hope so!

Based on the chatter on the web and Facebook and book forums, I thought this book would be a quick read, one of those ones that are all hot sweaty sex with a touch of romance and I was okay with that. I wanted something to distract from the disappointing reads I had lately and erotica sounded good.

I should've read the blurb more carefully, but even then I don't think I would've been prepared for this book. This book took me by surprise. You probably need some background to understand my surprise. I was approved for a book in this author's trilogy (writing as Alessandra Torre for that series) from Netgalley. I borrowed the other two books preceding the third to prepare and found myself not liking book one at all. I put it down as a DNF. Call it mindset at the time, call it bi*c*iness, call it whatever, but I just wasn't into that first book and was dismayed at the thought of reading all three to get to book three. Then, I picked up The Girl in 6E.

If you're looking for swoony romance or erotic romance with hearts and butterflies (and maybe even a touch of kinky f**ckery), this book is not for you. If you like romantic suspense, talks about fetishes, something a little dark, a little edgy, then you need to read this book.

I don't want to give away too much so bear with me. Deanna Madden lost her innocence at 17. Oh, she's still a virgin; I'm not talking about her sexual innocence. I'm talking about her childhood. Her world came crashing down around her. She now poses as Jessica Reilly, with full identification and everything, earning her living without ever leaving her house. She's an internet video camera star; she has cybersex with strangers for $6.99/minute. Like the movie The Net, she never leaves her house, no one ever sees her, she simply orders everything to do with her life off the web. Psychiatry sessions? Skype. Food? Jenny Craig or the like. Books, movies, sex toys, clothing? Hello, Amazon Prime.

She meets some interesting characters in her career. She has to block some from time to time. And then this guy shows up and she is sure that his fantasies will be realities if she doesn't figure out who he is and put a stop to him.

I was surprised at the amount of sympathy I had for this woman who keeps daydreaming about killing people. I mean, who hasn't daydreamed about killing someone, right? But her daydreams are much more violent and vivid than is normal. You know she must be lonely, you know she's fighting depression and other issues, you know she's hiding behind her persona. She is sympathy inducing.

What is different about this thriller is that you know who the predator from the beginning. Creepster being creepy is from the start. What you don't know is how Deanna/Jessica is going to handle it.

And then there's Jeremy, the UPS man. Intrigued by this woman who only says four words to him when he delivers packages to her door, Jeremy is someone I want to learn more about. I hope there is a sequel!

And now...I'm off to read that trilogy I abandoned. I'm beginning to think I didn't give it enough of a chance. ;)

Once I started kissing Micah, I couldn’t stop. Maybe it was because I was moderately drunk, or maybe it was because each time Micah pressed his mouth to mine, I lost a little bit more of myself.

Did you guys do that cheer in middle school? That's how I felt reading RED HOT DRAGON. You just can't stop. It's too hot!

Avani Monroe and Griffin Cadogan are supposed to be enemies. Their families have been involved in a blood feud for CENTURIES. And yes, it can last centuries. They're dragons after all and live longer than mere mortals.

Avani is the last of her kind, a water serpent known as a Naga. Her species have been wiped out by the vicious Knights, hunting down and slaughtering dragons. Griffin is one of the Brotherhood, warriors whose duty it is to protect and help dragons survive. Avani approaches Griffin and asks the impossible. She wants a baby and he has just the right genetic line to help her as one of his distant ancestors was a water dragon.

This hot little novella is Griffin and Avani's story. I liked the first book, DEAD SEXY DRAGON with Griffin's best friend Stig and his mate, Cora, but this one was SO much better. I thought the characters were more detailed and developed and I liked how I felt I was just continuing in the story line. I'm envisioning a whole series of these and then getting an omnibus! *hopeful look towards the author*

Again, one of the things I liked is that there isn't an INSTANT declaration of love. Okay, it IS quick, but this is a novella! Griffin acknowledges that they've not known one another very long but there IS some kind of connection beyond their desire to have a baby and since he wants to be in the baby's life...and he has this pull towards her...they should give it a go! Avani is just thinking of how S.E.X.Y. Griffin is, but then she also thinks about his habits as they spend their heat (as in animal's mating time) together and how he demonstrates care and consideration. Add a life/death situation and there you go! Love the long term commitment plans, and amazed at how quickly I became attached to these characters.

So that was book 2...NEXT?! =D I'll be goodreads-stalking Ms Lopez's page to see any news on continuing this series. I love these erotic, hot, steamy romances!

Okay, so first off...this book is FREE. Yes, free. Libre, gratis, frei, vapaa. Go! Snatch it up! 300+ pages of free, delicious, sexy vampires! I'll wait here. *counts down quietly waiting for you to get back* Oh, good. Got your copy? All right!

Katie Salidas is one of those independent authors, quietly storming her way into your heart. Like erotica? ZOMG then check out Submission Therapy. It's only 99c. Or, better yet, spend a few dollars more and get the whole series in one omnibus, Consummate Therapy! Okay, but I'm not here to talk about the hotness that is her and Willsin Rowe's therapy series. I'm here to talk about Alyssa & Lysander.

Alyssa is a born and bred Las Vegas chickadee saved by Lysander after a vicious attack by two low-lifes that left her bleeding to death. Alyssa has a difficult time adjusting to her new status as a vampire, having no time to prepare mentally for such a change. Lysander muddles his way through it as his previous "children" all had a choice. As Alyssa and Lysander fumble their way through the first few days, they are immediately threatened by Lysander's past: his sire, Kallisto, thinks he should still fall under coven rules although he left them ages ago and siring a new vampire is a no-no.

Alyssa is a fairly self-assured young woman who, while initially struggling with the idea of killing to eat, takes her vampirism in stride. But it's only when she can seize the night that she truly commits to her new life, her new love, and her new friends. Okay, she comes across as a little dumb and immature and impatient, but she's 25. Who isn't at that age? You can't expect her to miraculously have the wisdom of a two thousand year old vampire! There was one instance where I was pissed off and defending her in my head and that is near the end of the book. Hellooooo, she didn't run off and get herself trapped, you know. She was looking for someone to hunt with, took a member of the family with her, and was BETRAYED. She took the fall for that one as if she was dumb enough to go out alone or something and that bothered me! Grrr! lol

This was a great read for me: urban fantasy, vampires, action, touch of romance, adult (not erotica, just adults and their complexities), etc. I thoroughly enjoyed it and read it in one sitting. Okay, two sittings but only because I was starving and needed food to continue my reading without passing out! Not only do you have vampires who are VAMPIRES, but you have this great dynamic of people and personalities that just electrify the pages. As relationships and friendships develop, there is raw human emotion coupled with a reasoning beyond her years that just kinda grab you by the throat and make you keep turning the page. I'm kinda reading these books all out of order as earlier this year I read DARK SALVATION. Now that I have the order of things, I cannot wait to sink my teeth into the next, HUNTERS & PREY.

**P.S. Katie: I lean more towards Gerard Butler for Lysander! Definitely Eric Bana for Nicholas, and after seeing Alexander with Angelina Jolie playing psycho mom, she is SO right for Kallisto! =D **

Katie replied: Hmmm, a playlist, sadly no. I listen to music that fits the mood of the scene I am writing, so there are lots of different songs I’ve used for mood music over the last 6 books in the Immortalis series.

A_TiffyFit's Review: I initially had mixed feelings about this book. I mean...she has a BOYFRIEND and she's utterly consumed with the sexy hotness of her boss's son, including having sex dreams about him, and she keeps her boyfriend at arm's length anyway. Cheating in books is a turn off for me, but you know what? Terrence freaking deserved it anyway, that violent, vile, pretentious jerkwad. Grrrrr!

Like with many romances, there's a wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am-oh-my-god-I-love-you deal here. But, it's not QUITE insta-love because it's only one-sided. Cue the heartfelt sigh for unrequited love. *long dreamy sigh* Blake ends up having to work hard at winning Kira over. He has a lot going against him from her psyche due to her past, his treatment of his long-estranged father whom Kira works for and adores, his callous "gift", etc. Plus he has rich, social-climbing, jealous schmucks like Brittany draping themselves over him, getting in the way of his attempts to court Kira.

Sexy and steamy with a plot that is multi-faceted, this shorter novel is one you can read in one sitting and come away from smiling. Better than just smiling; first you get a little fistpump of justice dealt and THEN you get the Happily Ever After smiles.
