The world has never been an easy place for impoverished teen Beau Tolson, but from the moment her sick mother is given months to live, Beau’s life takes an extraordinary turn.

In order to buy the only drug that can now keep her beloved mother alive, 16 year old martial arts champion Beau resorts to illegal prize fighting at East London’s most notorious underworld lair.

But that’s only the beginning of her troubles.

When some of her closest friends start acting weird, and a mystifying new boy turns up outside the school gates, Beau is told a life changing secret... That not only are some of her friends angels, but that she is going to become an angel too.

It isn’t long before she finds herself torn between the divine and this world; between her responsibilities and the colossal destiny that awaits.

Little do any of them know that a sect of ex-angels have also come to Earth, planning on kidnapping Beau for the very same reasons the angels want her: to fulfill a prophecy that involves this world and theirs, and who will rule it all until the end of time.

WARNING: This book leaves off on a cliff hanger. But you knew it would, right?

SOREN: The Angel & the Prizefighter is a YA /NA paranormal, angel story. I think the author, Louise Nicks, nailed it with this book as I found it very attention-grabbing and unique with its explanations of wing variations, who is whom among the angels, and the hints of prophecy. She also hit the nail on the head in regards to how children behave and bullying. Our heroine, a martial arts fighter, is being bullied due to her lack of money. I loved how this was handled although I think the end result was a bit fantastical. Ideal, but fantastical.

The love interest and how the relationship develops is nice. It was frustrating to see how many are against them, but I loved that their close friends came around and supported them, including the standoffish Braille.

I look forward to reading about each character as this series continues on. I'm being general because I don't want to let on what happens in the end, but there is a lot of movement that needs to happen. As as these movements occur, I'd like to learn more about the team of friends put together, Argo to get his head out of his feathered behind, and watch as the powers that be find their own!

A_TiffyFit's Review
So...I'm kinda dumb at times and don't pay attention to the details such as THIS IS BOOK ONE OF A SERIES. So, when I 'm rocking along enjoying my read and come to a cliffhanger ending, I shrieked. I admit it. I moaned. I put my head down on my knees and muttered to myself.  I mean...I knew this book was going to be good within the first few pages. How? Easy.
Now, if I ever hear of you treating a girl like this again, I’ll find you and hurt you so bad, tonight will seem like a walk in the park. Men like you in positions of authority should keep their little peckers in their pants.
Just like that. See? Now you want to read it, too, don't you? *smirks at you* Yeah, Indy is 1)awesomely named character (yes her name is Indiana as a human) and 2)total kick ass girl. The narration switches point of view between Indy and Nate and it is interesting to watch the same events unfold from different perspectives. The story unfolds bit by bit, but I'm afraid that there just wasn't enough information to satisfy me. Once I reached the end and realized this was BOOK ONE, then I understood that it's a groundwork laying book, introducing the characters for future books. This was a very well told story with faceted characters that make you want to scratch and poke at them to find out more of what made them the way they are. There is already a love triangle brewing between Nate - Indy - Connor. There's a story about Indy's "brother", a fellow fallen angel searching for his love and I'd love to read that, too. This book was well-paced and very enjoyable to read. I cannot wait to read more in the series!

Author Bio: My name is Aria Williams, and I am a new author who loves to write Young adult and paranormal novels. I live on nine acres of beautiful pasture land in the central west of NSW. I work full time as a nurse, this is where I get a lot of my inspiration from. For me I find my inspiration in the form of many vices either good or bad. I write from the heart and use my novels to express myself. My first novel was born from my feelings of helplessness in a world where even the innocent die and many people are left wondering why. It felt right to create a character that could heal any physical illness with some minor consequences. My second novel Heavenly hell is from my personal experiences involving harassment, and the dominating role in which people in positions of authority take and use to their own selfish advancements. When I am not writing or working, I like to play with my dogs and have fun with my friends.
