If this review could only be two words it would read: More please! A super short novella, I was immediately puzzled by why the best friend seems to have no idea her best friend is a witch and the husband she's sleeping with is a warlock. More so, I wondered why witches only marry for a year and have to renew the vows every year! I would love to read more in this series and see who ends up where, if she gets revenge on Rich, and if anything is to come of her and the hitchhiker!

My husband’s arms were wrapped around her naked body. The blankets were strewn and interwoven between their legs. He was spooning her with his biceps draped over her. I stood in the doorway taking in the scene of my husband and my best friend. It was the end of the world, at least for me. But I wasn’t going to take it lying down. I should have known better than to have married a warlock.

I hit him with a force spell that knocked him up against the headboard. He fell back down and braced his hands out to catch his fall. Cassandra scrambled out of the bed, dragging the silk comforter with her. Bitch. She better get out of my way. She was next.

Rich was naked as he sat up to look at me. Normally, the abs-flash trick would work. But not now. I was too pissed off. I knew what spells he used to look like that. It was easy to fool a mortal and ex-best friend on the floor. But not me. Thing is, we were too evenly matched. I think that was the problem.

Author Bio

I was born and raised near Las Vegas, NV and grew up dreaming of rain. I also dreamt of heroes and villains and the women that inspired the best and worst in them.

It seemed like every book I read as a teen was a classic bodice-ripper. Wimpy-virgin-heroine always making bad choices and getting herself in trouble, cue the macho hero, yadda yadda yadda. Those books are what inspired me to write my own stories, not because I loved those retro-romances, but because I constantly found myself tossing them aside and fuming. I would think of all the ways the story would have been better: if she had just picked up the sword and stabbed the bad guy when she had the chance...

I LOVE writing and I love the new direction that fiction has taken over the last decade. So many amazing, strong female leads now! And so many new writers that finally have a voice in the indie publishing community.

I was blessed with a wonderful husband who supports my passion for writing and reading and who really helped me focus my desire to publish my work. When I'm not busy enjoying my daughter and husband I'm usually developing a new story idea or sneaking in a bit of free time with my favorite authors.

I'm a bit of a hermit, they called it being "shy" when I was a kid, but I love hearing from fans. I also love ferrets, hiking, chili dark chocolate, strong coffee, nursing mamas, and rain.

This was my very first Gena Showalter book and now I know why everyone talks about them and is giddy when she has a new one coming out! I definitely will be buying her other books immediately and diving in! This was heart-pounding action, sweet emotion, fun and snarky wit from both main characters, and intense sexy heat!

First, can we talk about how gorgeous this cover is? I love how that dress ends in liquid and it's so incredibly vivid! Love it!

Corbin Blue is an Arcadian, an alien basically, with incredible powers that no one knows the extent of. He's a star football player, a celebrity, a rake with a womanizing reputation. What no one knows is that he's a black ops agent...

Evangeline Black is a doctor in a New States hospital, owned by her father, Michael Black. Michael is a well known arms dealer making the move to legitimate businessman. And is Corbin's boss as well as Evie's, because she's a trained agent as well.

The book starts off with a bang, intense chemistry between Blue and Black just flying back and forth. It was incredibly enjoyable and then it just kept rolling. When Blue is injured and her father has gone missing, he goes to the only person he can trust at a time like this, the Black Plague herself, Evie.

The description of what happened to Earth was incredibly brief, but totally disheartening as I could see it happening in my life time. But happily the story focuses on the present for Blue and Evie. Together, their mission is to recover her father and the other two missing agents, John and Solo.

Lots of sexual tension (and relief), lots of action, tons of personality, and incredibly endearing hero and heroine made this book a five star read for me. Once I fell into the world of Black and Blue, I was lost for a few hours of pure enjoyment and entertainment! I cannot wait to get my hands on more Gena Showalter books!

This is one of those books whose mere blurb gets you all revved up and excited! A Siren and a Werewolf, both keeping their natures secret, both working for the FBI? Is it any wonder why I, the paranormal addict, signed up to host a spot on the tour??

Oh, yeah, disclaimer as always: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Actually, I don't think Netgalley even requires a review, but it's nice if you give one kind of thing. And then the tour came along, and yeah.. ;) ONTO THE REVIEW!

Well, crap. I have no idea when the next book is due out or any information on it. You know if I'm starting my review like this it means that I WANT MORE. (Veruca Salt, you got nothing on me when it comes to books, kid!)

Emma is a Siren with a curse: any man she has an emotional attachment to could die much earlier than he should and she must work endlessly to save women in order to atone for her past. Her mantra is "Redemption could be one rescue away." Zack is a werewolf atoning for his own transgressions. Both have crosses to bear, both have something that is driving them to help others in their roles as FBI agents, and both feel the pull towards one another as their chemistry just sizzles.

They have worked together in the past, but now Zack is Emma's new permanent partner in the San Diego FBI office. They work missing person's cases. I loved the fast pace of this novel, the criminal/detective/mystery aspect, as well as the fact that it incorporates paranormals...my favorite genre!

No insta-love here, but also...no HEA, at least not yet. While there isn't a cliff hanger, there's the potential for a nice long series (like J.D. Robb's In Death series but only with paranormals...case by case basis for each book? YES PLEASE). A cast of characters that I would love to get to know more (Liz, Evan, Kallistos, and of course Zack and Emma), story lines that weave in and out of one another, and maybe we can see some forgiveness from that petty so-and-so Demeter? Totally want more of this one and can fully recommend it for paranormal junkies like me. Twist a little werewolf with a little mythology and make it an urban fantasy/crime novel? Woo!
