About the Author
Melissa Pearl was born in Auckland, New Zealand, but has spent much of her life abroad, living in countries such as Jordan, Cyprus and Pakistan... not to mention a nine month road trip around North America with her husband. "Best. Year. Ever!!" She now lives in China with her husband and two sons. She is a trained elementary teacher, but writing is her passion. Since becoming a full time mother she has had the opportunity to pursue this dream and her debut novel hit the internet in November 2011. Since then she has continued to produce a steady stream of books. Recently she signed with Evatopia Press and her first Evatopia book is coming out in February 2014 - True Colors, The Masks Series #1. She is very excited to be trying out new things this year while continuing to publish under her own name as well. She has six books planned for 2014 and is excited about writing each and every one of them.

What's a good book without a divine love interest?
I usually try and make my male leads good looking, but not over the top. I like them to be human and real. I get so sick of reading books about these stunningly beautiful people. I prefer a touch of reality.
In saying all that, with Eric, I couldn't help myself. To me he is just beautiful. When I was designing the cast of True Colors, he stuck out to me as this super hot surfer. The kind that makes your jaw go slack. The one you can't take your eyes off whenever he's around. It was so cool to write such a gorgeous character and I love the way Caitlyn swoons whenever she's near him.
Now he's still flawed. He has a slightly fiery personality when he's pushed and he has a few trust issues that he's going to have to work through, but when it comes to looks, Eric Shore is perfection and I have to say, it was SO much fun to write such a sexy character.
“Hey Caity.” Eric’s sweet voice made my insides flutter.
He was standing on his lawn, leaning his surfboard against the fence. He finished drying off his hair and spread the towel out to dry.
I tried not to stumble as I descended the stairs towards him. He propped his arms on the fence as he waited for me. His bare skin smelt fresh and salty. I wondered if he knew how much his shirtless form undid a girl. I’m sure he’d wear more clothes if he knew how much it undid me anyway.
Trying not to gaze longingly at his chiseled frame was hard work. I licked my bottom lip and forced myself to look into his eyes. They were glimmering with a small smile.
