{Blog Tour} Eversea & Forever Jack by Natasha Boyd -- with reviews and giveaway!

Book 1
Eversea by Natasha Boyd
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Publication date: June 10th 2013

Synopsis:

Eversea, a love story, is a Winter Rose Contest FINALIST 2013. Emilia Pisani of Simon & Schuster (judge) says "Great southern flavor!" and "Jack is an alluring leading man!"

An orphaned, small-town, southern girl, held hostage by responsibility and self-doubt.

A Hollywood A-list mega-star, on the run from his latest scandal and with everything to lose.

A chance encounter that leads to an unlikely arrangement and epic love affair that will change them both forever.

When his co-star and real-life girlfriend is caught cheating on him with her new director, A-list hottie, Jack Eversea, finds himself in sleepy Butler Cove, South Carolina. Jack hopes the sultry southern heat in this tiny coastal Lowcountry town will hide him not only from the tabloids and his cheating girlfriend, but his increasingly vapid life and the people who run it. He doesn’t count on meeting Keri Ann Butler.

Keri Ann has relied on herself so long, dealing with her family’s death and the responsibilities of keeping up her family's historic mansion, that boys and certainly the meager offering of eligible boys in Butler Cove, have never figured into her equation. But fate has other plans. Suddenly face to face with the man who played the movie role of her favorite fictional character, Jack has Keri Ann yearning for everything she has previously avoided ... and Jack must decide whether this funny, sassy girl is worth changing his life for, before his mistakes catch up to him.

If I had sum up what I thought of EVERSEA in a few words, I think I would describe it as: a great modern day love tale although set like an old-fashioned fairy tale; a very enjoyable throughout and captivating story!

The characters were realistic and relatable, totally believable. You can imagine these folks and the possibilities in a real place, somewhere in South Carolina, a smallish town, all interacting daily, involved in each other's lives, and caring for one another. It is an enviable place which you wish for yourself to be and to have such people as your very own friends.

The handsome prince coming in the form of a movie star could totally be a possibility, too! The handsome prince is in the form of Jack Eversea and the small town girl who is smart, likable, talented and pretty comes in the form of Keri-Ann Butler, who lives in this little coastal town of Butler's Cove. Her family, of course, is the founding family of the town and lives in one of the holdest homes that is historically designated to signify their heredity, but now in need of some facelifting.

Their first interaction starts on a near accident on the road, and later that same night at her workplace, the Grill. Unlike her best friend, Jazz, Keri-Ann isn't starstruck - or at least outwardly. And she interacts in this manner which Jack finds attractive. Keri-Ann treats him as she would every other man in town, although she must keep reminding herself of that; he is just a man, although of course with a movie star physique and looks!

Keri Ann's resolve comes apart eventually, as expected, and she begins to become attracted to Jack the man. Not hard at first, but with more interaction with Jack and shared interests, her attraction to him grows and grows despite her intentions. As these things happen between a man and a woman who are attracted to one another, they eventually do end up in one another's arms. Both with reservations at first. Both not sure whether or not to trust and open their hearts.

I would tell you more, but that would give away the story and I don't want to do that. It is sweet and romantic and heart-aching. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

BOOK 2

A feisty small-town girl and the Hollywood star who broke her heart

Keri Ann Butler’s life changed on the night she met movie star, Jack Eversea. She thought she knew a Jack that was very different to the man adored by fans the world over. Suddenly Jack is back, and his explanations for why he left seem more and more plausible, and his declarations more seductive. But being Jack’s latest tabloid accessory isn’t on Keri Ann’s career agenda, no matter how much she is attracted to him. And how can she can ever trust him again?

Jack knows he let the only ‘real’ thing that ever happened to him slip through his fingers. And his hands have been tied to try and stop it. Until Now.

Goodreads | Amazon | B&N

Jack Eversea is washed up...rising up from the dark void of the externally glammed up, but deeply dark soulsucking that is Hollywood. And just in time, too, because had it been just a little bit later, Jack would have undoubtedly been sucked in like so many others before him.

He's seen it happen of course and unlike many, he was lucky to have met Keri Ann, a young woman who has not been jaded by the darker pull of the outer world. Yet. Jack needs Keri Ann for that and much more. She keeps him grounded and interacts with him as a fellow human being, not as the superstar the silver screen has made him. With everyone wanting a piece of him and his fame, Keri Ann stands out because to Keri Ann it's the REAL Jack Eversea that she wants; the good, the bad, all of it.

And so Butler's Cove soap continues with the now returned Jack Eversea trying to win his love back by his efforts to clarify his misbehavior while in England that's been all over the gossip media as well as main stream news. Jack must convince Keri Ann of his fidelity, but it isn't easy as all those photographs and accompanying stories confuses Keri Ann and makes her feel mixed up, distrusting Jack and his word that he's been in love with her from the start. One can't help but to feel for Jack, the hero, the debonair, good looking movie star.

This sequel, too, is believable with its characters, their reactions, timeline, etc. How can it not be when we are exposed to these kinds of so-called news stories ever day?

What's charming about both of these books is that it goes beyond the unwanted details and it deals with the old-fashioned affairs of the human heart, and what it is to be in love, the real love, if you are one of the lucky few who gets to share it with someone. We can identify what Jack and Keri Ann feel for one another and understand, and therefore sympathize, and empathize, with their pains when they are stunted from true expressions by external forces whom none of us have control over. Thus, we the reader get involved with them, their experiences, frustrations, and root for their success. The author captured it brilliantly -- the full range of emotions, the prose, it is true and captivating because it is so realistic.
