Rowan is Book 2 in the Blood Crave Series.
Other Books in the Blood Crave Series:
Dahlia (#1) (My review HERE)
Fallen Tears (#1.5)

Description:
Dark. Night. Death.

Things Rowan has been trying to avoid for the many years since she was first turned. Her choice: to sleep away the darkness; it beats having to deal with the craziness of life. Or rather, death. However soon after awakening, she stumbles upon a lone figure whose presence is shrouded with mystery.

She assists him in his search for answers making it even more difficult for Rowan to forget her past. She realizes she can’t hide forever as she is literally being sucked back into her chaotic world: a world where both fallen angels and vampires exist, manifested on earth as lapsus and lamia.

Not particularly … friendly with one another.

Rowan struggles to resist her hunger as a demon vampire while dealing with unwanted desires for a fallen angel from the past: a relationship that could only spell trouble. Not to mention the unresolved feelings she still has for a loved one from long ago. While all of this is happening, they must all seek the hidden evil that hunts them—for there’s an ancient fighting to wake up and destroy everything Rowan holds dear.

A_TiffyFit's Review
And we are back in the world of Dahlia. Christina Channelle takes what we assume about vampires and their origins and tosses it out and gives us something new. While this is book 2 in the Blood Crave novels (Dahlia being book 1, and Fallen Tears book 1.5), I really think you could read this as a stand alone. Rowan was the name at the end of Dahlia, a hint at what is to come. We meet her more thoroughly in the novella, Fallen Tears, but this here is HER story.

Rowan has been asleep for a few years now, only to wake and be immediately sucked (no pun intended!) back into the world she is now a part of. She finds a body in the alley way as she's feeding, but to her surprise, he's in some kind of magical sleep. Seeing as how he's dying and all, she turns him, and we find out it's Sam. From there the story follows Rowan on her journey as she reunites with Remy and Kaji and meets new people linked to Sam.

Remy and Rowan are in love with one another, but Rowan keeps backing away, a star-crossed lovers kind of thing. She's this mix of tough chick and sweet chick, but you kinda want to kick her and get her into Remy's arms already!

I enjoyed this next chapter in the Blood Crave series. While you do not have to read "Dahlia", you'd get the full story behind her if you did. It isn't confusing at all when she arrives as everything is concisely explained without feeling like a lecture or rehash of book one. As Rowan was the last word or so in "Dahlia",  Craven is the last word in this one. The next piece of the puzzle? Yes, the situation is unresolved and yes that makes it a cliffhanger, but I didn't scream in frustration. I'm ready for the next installment without feeling like I'm leaning over a precipice!
